What hardware do I need to run BoB?
BoB will run on both PC and Mac. The minimum specification for the processor is any Intel or AMD x86-64 processor. At least 2.9Gb of HDD space is required and an SSD is recommended. The recommended specification is for any Intel or AMD x86-64 processor with four logical cores and AVX2 instruction set support. Ideally: Intel® Core™ i9, 32Gb RAM, 1 TB SSD, NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 40 Series graphics.
Can I have a free trial of BoB?
Yes. You can obtain a trial version of BoB here to evaluate the suitability of a purchase of BoB. The trial version has most of the analytical capability of BoB and comes with pre-loaded trial data but cannot load the user’s data. If you decide to purchase BoB we will activate the full version of BoB on your chosen computer.
What motion capture equipment can I use with BoB?
BoB is often used with motion capture equipment to animate the subject, but mocap isn’t always required. BoB can be used with look-up tables or MATLAB functions to define the joint angles and movements. If motion capture equipment is used, BoB can read C3D files using the Helen Hayes marker set from optical tracking systems such as Vicon, Qualisys, OptiTrack. BoB can also read BVH files from any equipment. Additionally BoB can read motion data from many IMU systems and has robust interfaces to Xsens and Noitom/Perception Neuron equipment.
How is BoB delivered?
BoB is delivered as a downloaded package. The package contains the BoB executable, examples of input files which will help you to quickly start using BoB and a user manual. The package also contains an installer which will configure BoB on your computer
What support is provided with BoB?
BoB is designed to be easy and intuitive to use resulting in most of our users using BoB “straight from the box”. Each BoB licence is supplied with one hour user support via email. BoB has a reputation for excellent customer support and we will always endeavour to provide you with the necessary support to ensure that you can get the best from BoB. Additionally we can provide specific support for you on a consultancy basis.
Can I move BoB to another computer?
Although BoB is node-locked to your computer, we acknowledge that periodically computers need changing and you will require to move your BoB licence to a different machine. We will therefore provide you with a reasonable number of transfer licences for a handling charge of 100USD per transfer.
Can BoB share data with MATLAB?
BoB is developed in the MATLAB environment and uses the same data format as MATLAB hence all data can be easily shared between BoB and MATLAB.
Can I scale the human model in BoB to represent specific individuals?
Yes, the height and mass of the human model can be easily changed by the user. Additionally, individual segmental lengths and inertia properties can be modified by the user. BoB also contains a muscle editor which enables the user to insert, edit and delete all of the muscles in the body.
